Private Label Coconut Products — Build Your Own Brand with a Sri Lanka Manufacturer

Navik Mills manufactures private label coconut products for retail brands, food service chains, and health food distributors across 35+ countries. From formulation and packaging design to certification and export documentation, we handle the full production process so you can bring a coconut product range to market under your own brand — without owning a factory.

This page covers how our private label process works, minimum order quantities by product, available packaging formats, certification options, and who we typically work with. If you’re evaluating a private label coconut supplier, everything you need to scope a first order is below.

Why Private Label Coconut Products from Sri Lanka

  • Full vertical integration: We own our plantations, processing facilities, and export packaging — meaning tighter quality control and full traceability for your brand, from farm to finished product.
  • Certification portfolio included: Organic, Fair Trade, Halal, Kosher, and BRC certification are available across our private label range, carried through to your packaging subject to each certification body’s requirements.
  • Broad product range from one supplier: Coconut milk, cream, water, desiccated coconut, flour, virgin coconut oil, butter, sugar, vinegar, and aminos — build a multi-product range without managing multiple factories.
  • Premium origin story: Sri Lanka coconut carries stronger quality positioning with European and North American retail buyers than reseller-model competitors sourcing from Thailand or the Philippines.
  • GSP+ trade advantage: Sri Lanka’s GSP+ status with the EU means most coconut product categories enter at 0% import duty, improving your landed cost versus other origins.

How the Private Label Process Works

Bringing a private label coconut product to market with Navik Mills typically follows five stages:

  1. Initial consultation and product brief. Tell us the product(s), target market, format, and any certification requirements. We advise on formulation options, realistic MOQs, and lead times based on your brief.
  2. Formulation and sampling. We prepare product samples to your specification — fat content, consistency, format — and ship them for your approval before production begins. Adjustments are made at this stage, not after a full production run.
  3. Packaging and artwork. Our design team works with your brand artwork to prepare print-ready packaging files compliant with your target market’s labelling regulations (FDA, EU Regulation 1169/2011, or other regional requirements). We can also advise on packaging formats that suit your budget and MOQ.
  4. Production run. Once artwork and specification are signed off, we schedule your production run. You’ll receive certificates of analysis (COAs) for the batch, covering the relevant food safety and quality parameters.
  5. Export and documentation. We prepare all export documentation — commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, GSP Form A / REX Statement where applicable, and organic or Fair Trade transaction certificates — so your shipment clears customs without delay.

Repeat orders skip the sampling and artwork stages unless you’re changing formulation or packaging, which significantly shortens lead time on reorders.

Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) by Product

MOQs vary by product and packaging format. The table below gives typical starting points — your account manager will confirm exact figures once your brief is scoped.

Product Typical MOQ (Retail-Ready) Typical MOQ (Bulk/Foodservice)
Coconut milk / cream 10,000 units (canned or cartoned) 1 FCL — bulk aseptic IBC or bag-in-box
Coconut water 10,000 units (Tetra Pak or canned) 1 FCL — bulk aseptic
Desiccated coconut 5,000 retail packs (200g–500g) 1 FCL — 25kg kraft bags
Virgin coconut oil 3,000 retail jars (250ml–1L) 1 FCL — 175kg/190kg drums
Coconut butter 3,000 retail jars By arrangement
Coconut flour 5,000 retail packs 1 FCL — 25kg bags

For smaller volumes, LCL (Less than Container Load) consolidation is available on bulk formats, though this adds cost and extends lead time to 5–7 weeks ex-Colombo. Retail-ready formats below stated MOQs can sometimes be accommodated by combining multiple SKUs into a single production run — ask your account manager.

Packaging Options

We offer private label packaging across both retail and food service/industrial formats:

  • Cans: Coconut milk, cream, and water in standard retail can sizes, with your artwork printed directly or via label application.
  • Cartons and pouches: Tetra Pak-style cartons and stand-up pouches for coconut milk, cream, and water — a growing format in European and North American retail.
  • Bulk aseptic: 200–1,000 litre IBCs or 20-litre bag-in-box for food manufacturers blending coconut milk, cream, or water into their own formulations.
  • Retail jars and bags: Glass jars for coconut oil and butter; stand-up pouches or kraft bags for desiccated coconut and flour.
  • Bulk drums and kraft bags: 175kg/190kg drums for oil, 25kg kraft bags for desiccated coconut and flour, suited to food manufacturers and ingredient distributors.

Certifications Available on Private Label Products

Our full certification portfolio can be carried through to your private label range, subject to each certification body’s trademark and labelling requirements:

  • EU Organic and USDA Organic — for products sold under an organic claim in the EU or US market
  • Fairtrade International / Fair for Life — the Fairtrade Mark can be applied to private label packaging under licence from the certifying body
  • Halal and Kosher — required for food service and retail supply into markets with significant Muslim or Jewish consumer populations
  • BRC Global Standard (Issue 9) — the food safety benchmark most European and UK retailers require of the manufacturing facility, not the brand itself

Tell us at the brief stage which certifications your target retailer or market requires — this determines raw material sourcing and production scheduling.
